Montalin
Begin your hike at 1200 metres above sea level. Leave the woods and meadows behind you and head up to the alpine area. Hear cow-bells clang as the cows graze in the alpine meadows, see alpine stalls, mountain creeks etc. Treat yourself to fresh spring water and rejoice in the quiet nature. See the scenery changing as you move higher and higher and finally reach this majestic-looking mountain summit with a view of the oldest city of Switzerland, the River Rhine, various villages and valleys below and of course, the south-eastern Swiss Alps. Opportunity to see a colony of capricorns if they are on the nearby hills when you reach the summit. (Available from June to October. Time to reach summit: approx. 2 hours 30 mins)
